Later Life

Elizabeth was diagnosed with cancer in 1950. Not long after, she began travelling to Chapel Hill for treatment. She eventually moved to Chapel Hill to be near one of her sisters after her daughter, Georgia, married and began to start her own family. While she was living in Chapel Hill, Elizabeth worked at a nursery taking care of small children. Elizabeth eventually lost her fight with cancer on May 3, 1975, leaving behind a daughter and four grandchildren who loved her dearly.
